Our Guide To Dealing With Curly or Frizzy Hair

Curly hair can be hard to tame.

Ask anyone who has it and they’ll tell you the same thing; it’s not easy to deal with.

They’re usually faced with one of two choices; to keep it cropped short or to try and stay on top of it with whatever products they can find.

What makes hair curly or frizzy?

Curly hair is the result of asymmetries in the hair follicle, which cause the hair to curl as it grows out. Straight hair is a product of symmetrical follicles, meaning that it remains mostly manageable as it grows out.

This leads to hair which can be difficult to control, and near impossible to tame. There are a few things you can do, if you have curly hair, to manage it. Here are some of them:

  1. Use a wide-toothed comb. When it comes to detangling curly hair, a wide-toothed comb is the best way to go. Without the coarseness of a brush, or the brute-force of a narrow-tooth comb, a comb with wider teeth is a less course and rough way to sort out your hair.
  2. Comb from the bottom. Untangle the ends, and then move your way up. This stops the knots from accumulating at the bottom and making it near impossible to comb through.
  3. Try a smoothing serum. While not yet a widespread solution, this has been know to work for some people with curly or frizzy hair. Check out some of the smoothing serums on the market and find one that works for you.

When it comes to using pomade, well, most products out there simply don’t work for people with curly or frizzy hair; or if they do, they don’t last for long. Our Original Hair Pomade is different. Through using beeswax as our primary ingredient, we have an all-natural solution to your haircare woes.

Beeswax is an organic softening agent. This means that it not only works to hydrate your hair follicles, and smooth out any impurities in your scalp - such as psoriasis, eczema, and dandruff - it also straightens your hair as you apply it.

Try it out, and see how it does. We’re sure it won’t disappoint.
